National HQ CAP has announced a Civic Leadership Academy for cadets. Information just came out in the national mail. It can also be found on the national HQ website.

How to Apply

ACTIVITY FEE
$200 includes academy materials, meals, and lodging

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1. Have earned the Billy Mitchell Award
2. Age 16 or older
3. Earhart cadets & COS/RCLS graduates are preferred

APPLICATION PROCESS
Because the academy is held during the spring and therefore is out-of-cycle with the other national cadet special activities, cadets will apply using the special procedures described below:
1. To apply, submit to HQ CAP a completed CAPF 31, endorsed by the squadron and wing commander.
2. Include an email address that will remain valid through March 2004 for all CCLA correspondence.
3. Also include a 1-page resume outlining experience in four areas: emergency services, aerospace education, cadet programs, and community service.
4. Mail completed applications to: HQ CAP/LMPD, Attn: Civic Leadership, 105 S Hansell St, Maxwell AFB, AL, 36112. Or, fax the application to 334.953.6699.
5. All applications must be received at HQ CAP by 21 November 2003.

SELECTION PROCESS
1. HQ CAP will collect and screen all applications and forward them by 26 November to the region commanders.
2. Region commanders will select three cadets to participate and notify HQ CAP by 15 December.
3. HQ CAP will notify all primaries and alternates by 20 December via email. The announcement will include travel information, a packing list, phone numbers, etc.
4. Cadets selected as primaries must pay a $100 deposit by 15 January. Do not send money with applications. The remainder of the activity fee is due 15 February
